Research On The Relationship Between Learning Goal And Learning Motivation Of Provincial Government-Funded Normal University Students

The government-funded education policy for normal university students in provincial colleges is gradually expanded to provide local teachers with high quality,ability and feelings for primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in rural areas of the province.Provincial government-funded normal university students play an important role in improving the quality of rural education,narrowing the gap between urban and rural education,and promoting the equality of urban and rural education.Therefore,the quality of their training is the basis and key to achieve the expected goal of this policy.To a certain extent,the quality of training depends on the strength of students’ learning motivation.Many studies in the academic circle show that the learning motivation of students in government-funded normal universities is not strong.This paper believes that exploring the internal mechanism of influencing students’ learning motivation is helpful to solve the problem from a deep level.Clear goals and expectations of the future will help strengthen the motivation of the individual,at the same time,in both the literature and previous interview found that more than half of the socialized students need psychological intervention and counseling,and psychological capital is one of the important index to measure the degree of individual positive and can be trained to improve in a short time.After literature review,based on the achievement goal orientation theory,taking learning goals and psychological capital as two important factors affecting the learning motivation of public funded normal students,this paper distributed the electronic questionnaire "Investigation On the Learning Situation Of Provincial Public Funded Normal Students" to685 public funded normal students in five Provincial Normal Universities in J Province,and randomly selected 15 students to conduct offline face-to-face interviews and online supplementary interviews with them and their counselors.Based on the collected data,this paper makes descriptive statistics,difference test,correlation test,regression analysis and mediation effect test on the three variables of learning objectives,psychological capital and learning motivation,and deeply discusses the causes of the results.The results show that the three variables of learning goal,psychological capital and learning motivation of provincial normal university students are positively correlated in pairs,and they are all above medium level on the whole,but the degree of leaning is slightly different,which is optimistic but still has room for improvement.There are some differences in each dimension of the three variables among the students of different genders,grades and majors.On the whole,there are only significant differences among the three variables in different majors.In terms of gender,the scores of boys’ achievement--goal avoidance orientation,goal avoidance tendency,self-efficacy and resilience were significantly higher than girls’.In grade,the scores of achievement--goal avoidance orientation,goal avoidance tendency and resilience continued to increase significantly from freshman to senior year.In terms of major,there are significant differences in the five sub-dimensions of mastering goal orientation,goal avoidance tendency,self-efficacy,optimism,hope and learning motivation.In addition,there are significant differences in learning goals and psychological capital between students with high motivation level and those with low motivation level.Through linear regression analysis,it is found that psychological capital plays a mediating role of 57.48% in the process of learning goal significantly predicting learning motivation.If the four dimensions of psychological capital are added into the model,the mediating effects of resilience,self-efficacy,optimism and hope increase successively.Except for achievement--avoidance goal orientation,the other three categories of learning goal have certain explanatory power to learning motivation,and psychological capital has the most obvious mediating effect in the process of achievement--approach goal orientation on learning motivation.According to the empirical research results,this paper puts forward three suggestions to improve the learning motivation of provincial public normal university students,which are as follows:First,make use of the career prediction advantage of public normal university students to set differentiated learning objectives;Second,pay attention to the mental health of public normal university students,carry out targeted intervention training;Third,to meet the reasonable interest demands of public normal university students and provide strong policy support.
