Ensuring the healthy growth of children is a fundamental strategic project in China. The "Outline for the Development of Children in China(2021-2030)" emphasizes the need to follow the characteristics and laws of children’s physical and mental development, protect children’s physical and psychological health, and respect children’s dominant position and enhance their sense of satisfaction, happiness and security. However, due to the unstable living environment and the staged characteristics of immature physical and mental development, migrant children may often face emotional health problems. Therefore,we should focus on and do an excellent job in mental health services for migrant children. To explore a practical path for the healthy development of migrant children’s emotions, this study relied on the X institution in Nanjing and took W who has obvious emotional problems as the service object, then through observation and field interviews this study deeply understood and analyzed the current situation and needs of W’s emotional adjustment. The negative emotions of client are as follows: easy to be jealous and angry;easy to be nervous and afraid;easy to be anxious and insecure;easy to feel sad and depressed. The client’ needs mainly include: obtaining more family emotional support, improving self-confidence in peer-group communication, improving the sense of achievement in self-directed learning, and gaining a positive sense of self-satisfaction.From the perspective of social work, this study carried out bibliotherapy case service activities under the guidance of emotional intelligence theory, social learning theory, and interactive ritual chain theory.Comprehensive analysis of the existing practice and theoretical research on bibliotherapy, the case bibliotherapy model in this study guides client to interactive reading through the four stages of recognizing emotions, understanding emotions, controlling emotions, expressing feelings, and flexibly adopting roles.Reading forms such as acting, imaginative creation, and free discussion give full play to their personal initiative and independently learn the relevant knowledge and skills of emotional adjustment.Practical research has proved that bibliotherapy is consistent with the service concept of social work and can meet the requirements of the staged development of children’s emotional intelligence. It is a powerful combination of social learning theory and an interactive ritual chain. Therefore, the case-based intervention mechanism of bibliotherapy in helping migrant children to adjust their emotions is effective to a certain extent. To better support the healthy development of migrant children’s emotional intelligence, this study reflected on the rigor of the case service practice process and the necessity of building a social support network for migrant children and put forward corresponding suggestions. To improve the quality of bibliotherapy services for migrant children, the following points should be done: first, choose appropriate reading materials;second, choose appropriate reading methods;third, make full use of the surrounding environment;fourth, the scope of services has shifted from "treatment-based" to "prevention and development-based".At the same time,in order to protect the basic rights and interests and healthy development of migrant children,it is necessary to emphasize the synergy of various actors, namely: first, the government should ensure the fairness of the welfare of migrant children;second, schools should pay attention to the cultivation of migrant children’ emotional intelligence;third,The community should create a community atmosphere of inclusiveness and mutual assistance;fourth, social work professional institutions should enrich the professional quality and service model of social workers.
