With the adoption of the 14 th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development,China has officially stepped into a new journey of building a socialist modern country.In the new five-year plan,the development of innovative talents and the development of the real industrial economy are still put in a prominent position,and it is still necessary to pragmatically implement the innovation-driven development strategy,deeply implement the strategy of strengthening the country with talents in the new era,and strive to improve the development level of scientific and technological talents and the development level of the real economy.Manufacturing industry is the main part of the real economy,and the key to realize the rapid development of manufacturing industry lies in industrial technology breakthrough,that is,manufacturing industry needs to realize innovation development.As the master of frontier knowledge and technology,scientific and technological talents,as high-quality production factors,play an important role in manufacturing innovation and development of real economy.Therefore,it becomes inevitable to study the influence effect of talent concentration on manufacturing innovation and form a long-term and efficient mechanism of action.Based on the research of previous scholars,this thesis composes the mechanism of the influence of talent concentration on manufacturing innovation development,constructs the evaluation index system of manufacturing innovation in terms of innovation environment,industrial innovation degree and R&D innovation degree,adopts the panel data of 30 provinces and municipalities nationwide from 2010 to 2020,and assigns weights according to the entropy value method to comprehensively evaluate the development of manufacturing innovation Secondly,the PVAR model is used to evaluate the innovation development of manufacturing industry.Secondly,the PVAR model is selected to explore the linear relationship between talent concentration and manufacturing innovation development in terms of talent concentration scale,structure and equilibrium,and the threshold regression model is selected to analyze the non-linear relationship between talent concentration and manufacturing innovation,and to test the threshold effect of talent concentration on manufacturing innovation in terms of talent concentration scale and structure respectively.The results show that: firstly,the national manufacturing innovation development shows significant regional heterogeneity,specifically the distribution characteristics of high in the east and low in the west,and the development gap between regions is gradually reduced.Second,the scale of talent agglomeration plays a scale effect,which has a significant lag-1 promotion effect on manufacturing innovation.The structure of talent concentration reflects the knowledge spillover effect,which has a long-term stable promotion effect on the improvement of manufacturing innovation.The level of manufacturing innovation has a suppressive effect on the balance of talent concentration,with an average lag period of 3~4 periods.Third,there is a double threshold effect when talent concentration scale is used as the threshold variable.When the scale of talent concentration is higher than the first threshold,it plays a significant role in promoting the manufacturing innovation level,and when the scale of talent concentration is higher than the second threshold,a crowding effect is formed within the talent concentration,which plays a suppressing role on the manufacturing innovation level.The overall relationship between the scale of talent concentration and manufacturing innovation shows an "inverted U-shaped" trend.When the talent pool structure is the threshold variable,there is only a single threshold effect,and when the talent pool structure is higher than the first threshold,the positive effect on the manufacturing innovation level increases significantly.
