At present,China’s community correction is gradually changing from extensive correction to fine correction. However,in practice, the community correction in our country mainly provides targeted service according to the type of crime of the correction objects, but there is a lack of targeted service for the problems faced by community correction objects in different correction periods.China’s community correction fails to pay enough attention to the problems of community correction objects in the early stage of correction, and directly enters the routine stage of community correction, which reduces the correction effect to a certain extent.Due to the change of identity, community correction objects are prone to role adaptation problems such as large psychological gap, strained family relationship and high work pressure in the early stage of correction. If these problems are not solved in time,it will affect the later effect of community correction. Therefore,it is of great significance to pay attention to the problems of community correction objects in the early stage of correction and to conduct professional intervention for them to promote their smooth acceptance of community correction and improve the effect of community correction.Under the guidance of role theory, label theory, and cognitive behavior theory, this study uses literature research method, field research method and other research methods to study the role adaptation of the service objects.Firstly, the social worker conducts in-depth interviews with the community correction objects and community correction staff to obtain information about the role adaptation of the service objects.Secondly, this study systematically analyzes the role adaptation of service objects in the early stage of correction, analyzes the service objects’ problems and assesses their needs, and formulates service plans and implements services on this basis. This study finds that the objects have the problem of role cognitive bias that they cannot correctly recognize their new role and have a low self-awareness in cognition. In terms of psychology, the objects have the problem of role tension with high psychological pressure and negative emotion. In terms of social relationship, the objects have the problem of role failure with tense family relationship and weak peer relationship. In terms of occupation, the objects have the problem of role ambiguity with unsuitable work content and improper work attitude. In this regard, the social worker uses role theory and label theory to help service objects re-understand their own roles and correct their role cognitive biases;uses cognitive behavioral theory to help objects solve the problem of negative emotional problems, change their negative cognition, relieve interpersonal relationship tension, and improve the objects’ ability to adapt to roles. Finally, this study summarizes the practical experience of promoting the role adaptation of the community correction objects, reflects on the status quo of community correction work, and proposes to build and strengthen the social support network for community correction objects, clarify the role of judicial social workers, and promote the refinement of community correction work. This Study shows that group social work for community correction subjects who have role adaptation problems in the early stage of correction can not only help community correction objects objectively understand their roles, improve correctional effects, and promote social harmony and stability, but also can further enrich the practical research on correctional social work and provide reference for the formulation of relevant policies, and promote the development of correctional work.
