| Illustrations are the highlights and important components of biology textbooks in junior high school.Each illustration contains and transmits abundant biological information,which can create a situation for students to learn biology.Illustration is an intuitive classroom teaching resource,which plays an important role in teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.Biology involves new energy,new materials,artificial intelligence,biomedicine and other fields,which play a vital role in China’s development.Therefore,this study aims to explore the effective use of illustrations in teaching materials.First of all,literature related to illustration at home and abroad is searched through literature research method to understand the research background,research status and theoretical basis of illustration at home and abroad.Secondly,the composition and classification of textbook illustrations are studied by induction and summary method.Then I understand the attitude of teachers and students to illustration and the application of the status quo through the questionnaire survey method.I put forward the corresponding countermeasures according to the problems reflected in the questionnaire.Finally,two parallel classes were selected as the control class and the experimental class,and the proposed strategies were put into practice in the experimental class.After the practice was completed,SPSS26.0 software was used to compare and analyze the students’ biological academic performance and verify the effectiveness of the strategy from an objective point of view.Through the questionnaire and teaching practice,the following conclusions are drawn:most teachers and students approve of the illustrations in the textbooks;Teachers and students do not use part of the illustrations because of heavy tasks and no requirements;The pictures most often used by students and teachers are real ones;Students tend to present knowledge content in the form of video and pictures;The students have strong dependence on the teachers in the study of illustration,but not strong sense of generalization statistics;The proposed strategies can improve students’ scores on related illustration questions.In order to strengthen and improve the application of illustration in biology teaching in junior middle school and give play to the effectiveness of illustration,the following suggestions are put forward according to the practical results.Teacher aspects: Improve the cognition of illustrations,actively explore the use of illustrations;Expand knowledge base;Improve the presentation of textbook content.School aspects: increase biology subject class hour;Provide tools that facilitate illustrative teaching.The significance of this study is as follows:(1)To provide reference for future research and analysis of illustrations;(2)To enable front-line biology teachers to have a thorough understanding of textbook illustrations;(3)To provide a basis for the revision and compilation of future textbooks;(4)To promote the effective use of textbook illustrations. |
