| Since the new curriculum reform, the number and type of biology textbookillustrations increase obviously, each illustration are storage and concentration of thespatio-temporal information a lot, some illustrations have been dominant in thetextbook, is helpful to cultivate the students ability of extracting information, analysisability, expressing ability. Illustrations can also breakthrough difficulty in learning,improve the quality of teaching. And it played a positive role in teaching, the teachers’and students’ should pay a attention to it, but in reality, textbook illustrations have notbeen fully utilized.Based on the above present situation, make the research. This study selected sixrepresentative high school students in Lanzhou city as subjects of the questionnaires’and interviews’ survey. The selection of objects are divided into three dimensions:Provincial level demonstrative high school, ordinary high school, county level highschool. Student Questionnaire is designed primarily for the basic situation of students,attitude toward biology of students, usage and cognitive understanding to biologytextbook illustrations of students, as well as expectations of students that theirteachers how to teach textbook illustrations. Teachers questionnaire is mainly aimedto know teachers,basic conditions on the textbook illustrations, the using frequency ofmaterials,artwork, and how it is used in the the context of teaching. At the same time,to know the teaching material illustration difficulty and teachers,expectation ontextbook illustrations.The teacher’ and student’s interview is mainly to make asupplement for questionnaire survey.Research findings through a solid theoretical foundation and a on-the-spotinvestigation, make the classification, the function of the illustrations, the correlationbetween text and illustration of research and teaching material teaching strategyresearch has certain reliability. To solve the study found in the following to solvesome of the most obvious problems with some help:(1) The subjects know every littleabout textbook illustrations of the quantity, type, function.(2) Objects of study fullyrealized the teaching material illustration importance, but insufficiently to use.(3)Guidance and advice are less for teachers to use with materials,illustrations.Above the main cause of the problems is awareness of the importance ofillustrations in textbooks is not enough, study of textbook illustration is not enough,guidance on textbook illustration is not enough. The study on the main reason for theexisted problem, therefore, has certain help to solve the above problem.(1)Make theillustration as a guide, illustrations and text to strengthen ties and improve theefficiency of classroom teaching, strengthening links between illustrations and text toimprove classroom teaching efficiency.(2)Make the illustration teaching as anopportunity, cultivating the scientific literacy of students.(3)Attache a greatimportance to the role and status on illustration.(4) Give high emphasis on teachingillustrations precautions and usage policies.By the new curriculum in senior middle school biology teaching, if teacherscould attach great importance to the role of textbook illustrations, and can make fulluse of textbook illustrations, could have a certain improvement to make the highschool biology classroom teaching fun, to improve the teaching effectively, tocultivate students’ interest in learning biology, to promote the formation of students’biological science literacy, to improve the students’ various ability and to developstudents’ academic accomplishment. |
