Whole book reading is a reading method that is different from in-class reading and extra-curricular reading.Teachers provide unified guidance to all students for the entire book with complete content,concentrated theme and rigorous structure,and guide students to use intensive reading,skip reading,etc.Read by reading.In particular,classical masterpieces,compared with other texts,can help students accumulate excellent traditional Chinese culture and build cultural self-confidence.However,the author’s investigation and review of relevant literature and materials found that: on the one hand,there are many theoretical discussions on the teaching of reading the whole book of classical classics,but the effective exploration of practical teaching is relatively weak,and it is not closely integrated with specific teaching texts.The research is not yet thorough enough;on the other hand,due to changes in reading methods and habits,as well as the impact of various network media,the reading situation of classical masterpieces is not optimistic.Based on this,this study takes the hundred-return version of "Water Margin" as a research model,and uses the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and other methods to conduct a case study on the teaching of reading the entire book of "Water Margin".First of all,two representative junior high schools with similar grades,learning conditions and teaching conditions were selected in Weifang area to conduct a questionnaire survey,so as to understand the reading status and guidance status of the whole book of "Water Margin".After analyzing the survey data,it is found that there are generally problems such as lack of interest in reading,low reading efficiency,casual reading,weak version awareness of teachers and insufficient preparation work.Data statistics and analysis are carried out for the above problems,as the basis for the following research.Secondly,on the basis of the previous investigation results and the review of relevant literature and materials,starting from the point of arousing students’ interest in reading,the whole book of "Water Margin" is analyzed from four aspects:teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching arrangements,and teaching strategies.The teaching design of book reading is carried out,and it is applied to front-line classrooms.After three stages of actual teaching,including pre-reading,mid-reading and post-reading,the following reflections and conclusions are made on the reading teaching activities of the whole book of "Water Margin" : pay attention to Students’ personalized reading,optimizing the evaluation system,selecting appropriate teaching content,promoting teachers’ self-ability development,and ensuring students’ reading time.This research attempts to conduct a case study on the reading teaching of the whole book of "Water Margin",taking into account the theoretical and practical research on the teaching of reading the whole book of classical masterpieces,explore the teaching mode of reading the whole book of classical masterpieces,and try to solve the problem of front-line Chinese teachers in the whole book.I don’t know what to teach or how to teach in book reading teaching.I hope to provide some teaching inspiration and suggestions for front-line teachers,cultivate students’ interest in reading classics and improve their reading ability.
