The development of an ecological civilization is an important aspect of China’s efforts to build a modern and strong socialist country,which we must continue to strengthen if we are to realize the aspirations of our people for a better life.The’Ethics and the Rule of Law’ curriculum for secondary schools carries new values and concepts of sustainable development,and secondary school students want to take an active role in the public life of society,and given their immature psychological development and sensitivity to environmental impacts,it is necessary for the school to educate and guide them,so it is particularly important to develop education for ecological civilization in secondary schools.This article uses textual analysis and analyzes the features of a course on ethics and the rule of law to determine the content of course materials on ecological civilization.The work is based on the collection of survey data to understand the current state of ecological civilization education,analyze the problems and reasons for integrating ecological civilization education,and propose strategies to solve the problems in the light of practical experience and teaching content.First,I will briefly describe the history of the chosen topic and the methodology through which the study was conducted,and briefly explain the main points of the study through the literature review.Second,I explain the concept of ecological civilization education,its theoretical underpinnings,and the possibility and necessity of its inclusion in the curriculum.Finally,the study proposes measures to address the problems of ecological civilization education,mainly by exploring the teaching content,enriching the system of teaching materials,optimizing the methods and means of ecological civilization education,improving teachers’ skills in ecological civilization education,and strengthening the practice of ecological civilization education in schools.Actions will be based on the following principles.Based on this,a teaching plan is presented for the second field of Lesson 6 of the first book for Grade 8 "Being a Responsible Person".Environmental civilization education for middle school students will,on the one hand,help improve teachers’ professionalism in the field of environmental civilization,and there is an objective need to strengthen students’ environmental literacy;on the other hand,it can improve the effectiveness of middle school education content,raise students’ awareness of environmental civilization,and build a beautiful home where people and nature develop in harmony.
