As an important spiritual link of cohesion,patriotism occupies a central position in the Chinese national spirit,and is an inexhaustible driving force for the unity and progress of the Chinese nation.Implementing patriotic education and cultivating patriotism are the inevitable requirements for the realization of the great power of national rejuvenation in the new era.Patriotism education is the eternal theme of my country’s national education.As the builders and successors of the socialist cause,the high school students are in an important stage of forming their attitudes and values in life.They need the correct guidance of patriotism education,so that they can strengthen their ideals and beliefs,have the courage to shoulder the historical mission,and grow into a newcomer of the era needed for national construction and development.The ideological and political course in Senior High School,as a key course for moral cultivation,has unique advantages in cultivating students’ patriotic awareness and cultivating patriotic feelings,and implementing patriotic education is an important task.Therefore,in the new journey of the new era,it is crucial to rely on high school ideological and political courses to implement effective patriotic education and strengthen high school students’ patriotic beliefs.This paper starts with the related theories of patriotism education in ideological and political course in high school,and explains the related concepts,characteristics and significance of patriotism education in ideological and political course.Then,it analyzes the current situation of the implementation of patriotism education in ideological and political courses in senior high schools.On the one hand,it sorts out the classification and distribution of patriotic education-related content in the unified edition textbook,displays the distribution in a tabular form,and digs deep into the rich resources of patriotism education contained in the textbook,so as to develop patriotic education for high school ideological and political teachers.Socialist education clarifies the context.On the other hand,by means of questionnaire,interview and communication,and classroom observation,the concrete implementation of patriotism education in ideological and political courses in senior high schools has been investigated,this paper finds out some problems such as the inadequate grasp of teacher’s patriotism education,the lack of students’ patriotic understanding,and the imperfect evaluation system of patriotic education,and analyzes the causes of these problems.This paper is based on the nature of the ideological and political course in high school,the characteristics of patriotism education and the law of physical and mental development of high school students,this paper points out that the patriotism education in the ideological and political course of senior high school should adhere to the teaching principles of hierarchy,object,inspiration and practice.And combined with the current situation,from the three aspects of promoting teachers to grasp the education of patriotism accurately,deepening students’ patriotism awareness and improving the patriotic education evaluation system,it further explores the specific strategies to strengthen the implementation of patriotism education in ideological and political courses in senior high schools.Finally,taking the lesson "People’s Congress System:my country’s Fundamental Political System" as an example,it provides a reference for high school ideological and political teachers to implement patriotism education,and implements the effect of improving patriotism education.
