Under the policy background of a sports power and a healthy China, combined with Beijing Zhangjiakou to jointly host the 2022 Winter Olympics, under this opportunity,my country’s ice and snow sports and related industries have been vigorously promoted and developed. As a branch of the ice and snow project, ice climbing has gradually appeared in people’s sight in our country. The Ice Climbing World Cup is organized by the International Mountaineering Federation(UIAA).Since its inception in 2002,it has held a total of 77 sub-stations and 3 world championships for 19 sessions. It is currently the world’s highest level of ice climbing events. This paper collects relevant data from the official website of the International Mountaineering Federation for the previous Ice Climbing World Cups, combined with the literature data method, mathematical statistics,GIS spatial analysis and other research methods, respectively from the basic overview of the Ice Climbing World Cup,the ownership of each item, the status of each country The temporal and spatial evolution of medal ownership and influencing factors have been comprehensively and carefully studied. In theory,it provides valuable research for my country’s ice climbing;in practice,it analyzes the current development of ice climbing in various countries, analyzes and studies the regional characteristics, and analyzes and contrasts the reasons for the differences in the performance of various countries in various projects and fields. In order to better promote the development of my country’s ice climbing industry, and to provide a theoretical basis and reasonable suggestions for my country to achieve ideal results in future ice climbing World Cup competitions. This article draws the following conclusions:1.According to the overall evolution,Russia has always been in a leading position in terms of time.Since 2010,South Korea’s strength has risen to the second place, while other countries’ competitive strength is relatively low;in terms of space, the overall medal belongs to the center of gravity.Move towards the geometric center of gravity of Russia, and the speed of movement gradually slows down.2.In the previous women’s difficulty events of the Ice Climbing World Cup,in terms of time,Germany took the lead from 2002 to 2006,Italy rushed to the top from 2007 to 2009,Russia took the lead from 2010 to 2017,and from 2017 to 2020 South Korea’s strength rose in 2015 and won most of the medals;spatially, the trajectory of the center of gravity of the medals for women’s difficulty events before 2013 has been moving towards the geometric center of gravity of Russia, and since 2013 it has begun to approach South Korea in the southeast direction.3.In the men’s difficulty events of the previous Ice Climbing World Cup,in terms of time, the strength of European countries was close to fierce competition from 2002 to 2005,and then Austria and Switzerland occupied the leading position from 2005 to 2009.Russia has risen rapidly since 2011.South Korea’s number of medals is also rising, but the overall strength is still lower than that of Russia. In terms of space, the trajectory of the medals for men’s difficulty events is relatively even in European countries before 2008,so the overall direction of movement is changeable. After 2008,Russia’s strength has gradually risen to occupy a leading position,so the center of gravity of medal ownership gradually approaches Russia’s geometric center of gravity.4.In the previous women’s speed events of the Ice Climbing World Cup,Russia has always dominated in terms of time. Before 2008,it occupied the leading position. However, the performance fluctuates greatly. After 2008,the gap between the strength and other countries has further widened, and at the same time It tends to be stable and basically wins gold, silver and bronze medals. In terms of space, the medal ownership pattern of the women’s speed event is relatively stable.Russia has monopolized this event for about 13 years. Therefore, the center of gravity of the medal ownership of women’s speed has been gradually moving towards Russia.5.In the men’s speed events of the previous Ice Climbing World Cup,in terms of time, before 2010,some European countries have the ability to attack medals. Therefore, although Russia is leading all the way,the medal ownership fluctuates greatly. After 2010,Russia’s strength has risen rapidly, almost Won all the medals after this;spatially, the center of gravity of the men’s speed event medals slowly moved toward the geometric center of gravity of Russia, and the competitive landscape was relatively stable.6.The attribution of medals in the Ice Climbing World Cup is significantly related to the number of participants in the Ice Climbing World Cup.The more the number of participants in the country, the more medals will be obtained.Recommendations for the development of ice climbing in my country based on the above analysis:First, make full use of our country’s geographical resources to develop and build natural ice walls and artificial ice climbing venues;second, host and hold more international and domestic ice climbing events;third,Cultivate a large number of reserve talents for ice climbing, and expand the number of ice climbers, coaches and referees in my country;the fourth is to learn the training model and system of high-level ice climbing countries.
