With the continuous development of the economy,most rural people want to receive more labor remuneration to improve their existing living conditions.A large number of surplus rural labor force go to cities to work,leaving behind children at home,resulting in an increasing number of left behind children in rural areas.Due to the lack of family integrity,the education problem of left behind children is gradually emerging and becoming increasingly severe,which has become a focus of concern for the government,society,schools,and families.Therefore,solving the education problem of left behind children in rural areas can lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of rural areas and the stability and prosperity of society.On the basis of reviewing and summarizing relevant literature on left behind children at home and abroad,this article provides a detailed discussion on concepts such as rural left behind children and education for left behind children in rural areas.Interview and questionnaire surveys are used to conduct in-depth research on the problems and countermeasures of left behind children education in L District of Jinan City.By conducting a visit and investigation on 260 rural left behind children and their school teachers and guardians from 15 towns in L District,Jinan City,we learned about the current situation of rural left behind children.This includes the number of left behind children in rural areas of L district,the structure of left behind children in rural areas,the guardianship of left behind children in rural areas,and relevant policies related to left behind children in rural areas.Based on the above situation,an analysis was conducted on the problems in the education of left behind children in rural areas of L District,Jinan City.After research,it was found that there are problems in the education of left behind children in rural areas.Left behind children in L District are mainly distributed in primary schools,and in terms of guardianship,their father works outside,their mother is at home or grandparents,and grandparents take care of their children;In terms of family education,due to parents working outside,70% of them return home once a year,and even if they return home,48% do not care about their children’s education.55% of parents never provide education and guidance to their children;In terms of school education,74% and 66% of teachers show little concern for left behind children in their students’ lives and studies.In addition,there are four problems with left behind children in rural areas of L district: lack of family education,lack of targeted school education,inadequate government policy support,and insufficient social attention.Therefore,the article proposes several suggestions from four aspects: family,school,government,and society.There are mainly: in the family,we should pay attention to parent-child education and improve family education methods;Schools should strengthen academic guidance for left behind children,strengthen mental health and safety education,and improve management systems;For the government,it is necessary to strengthen the supervision and implementation of policies,promote the further reform of registered residence related systems,strengthen the construction of laws and regulations,and implement rural revitalization to encourage homecoming employment;In society,it is necessary to provide correct guidance on the development direction of mass media and improve the care and service system for left behind children. |
