Research On Public Participation In The Establishment Of National Civilized Cities

The title of national civilized city is the highest gold content,the most influential and the most valuable city brand.It is not only a comprehensive honorary title reflecting the overall civilization level of the city,but also the highest honor in the comprehensive evaluation of domestic cities at present.In the process of building a national civilized city,people usually focus on government functions,governance measures,evaluation system and so on,but rarely involve in public participation.However,as the master of the city,the public plays a vital role in creating a civilized city and improving the level of urban governance.Only by ensuring the active participation of the public can we continuously improve the government functions,improve governance measures and optimize the evaluation system through the public response.Therefore,building a civilized city is inseparable from public participation and support.On this basis,how to improve public participation is an important issue that must be solved in the process of building a civilized city.This paper takes the public participation in the establishment of a national civilized city in Suqian as the research object.Firstly,by consulting the relevant literature at home and abroad,this paper makes a preliminary understanding of the current situation of the establishment of a civilized city and public participation at home and abroad.Secondly,it defines the relevant concepts of public participation and civilized city,and expounds the important role of public participation in the establishment of a national civilized city from the aspects of theory and practice,Then through the analysis of Suqian’s public participation in the establishment of national civilized cities,we can find the existing problems and causes.Finally,based on the practical experience of public participation in the establishment of civilized cities and urban governance at home and abroad,this paper puts forward specific measures to improve public participation in the establishment of civilized cities throughout the country.Provide reference for Suqian and other cities to carry out the construction of national civilized cities.
