Moral education is the first thing to educate people.As one of the traditional moral education methods,education by example,a real and three-dimensional value carrier,has always played an important role in moral inspiration,spiritual edification and value leadership in different historical periods.However,with the rapid development and changes of the times and profound changes in various aspects of society,traditional role model education has gradually fallen into a real dilemma,especially the phenomenon of "fake,big and empty" in the image of role models,which has led to many misunderstandings about role model education.As an important carrier of role model culture,the role models selected by mainstream media play an important role in demonstrating and guiding the public in terms of thoughts and behaviors.Especially in the era of diversified values and diverse ideas,how mainstream media can shape relatable,respectable and credible role models to guide audiences to learn,be willing to learn and enjoy learning from role models has become an important issue of common concern for the whole society,and also has an important guiding significance to further enhance the effectiveness of role model education.Based on this,this paper focuses on the image shaping of role models in mainstream media,selects the news reports related to role models in People’s Daily(2012-2022)as the research object,and uses the historical research method,qualitative and quantitative analysis method,multidisciplinary research method and other research methods,in an attempt to find out the optimal path for the image shaping of role models in mainstream media.Firstly,the theoretical interpretation of the basic concept,theoretical foundation and value function of role model image shaping is made.Secondly,the article systematically analyzes the characteristics of role models in People’s Daily(2012-2022)by carefully reading the texts in the official database of People’s Daily from January 1,2012 to May 31,2022 and extracting 1531 reports related to role models from them.Again,the article presents the audience’s real feedback based on the triple dimensions of cognition,identification and practice,and comprehensively analyzes the factors affecting audience feedback in terms of value guidance of mainstream media texts,the invocation of audience’s own experiential knowledge,and the interaction of commentary contents among audiences.From the second time,based on the analysis of People’s Daily,the article analyzes the effectiveness and shortcomings of People’s Daily in shaping role models from a typical case to a general one.Finally,the article highlights the "emotional rationality" of the role model image from the perspective of enriching the content structure of the role model,enhancing the "vividness" of the role model image by optimizing the communication method of the role model image,and strengthening the "sense of camera" of the role model image by innovating the narrative discourse of the role model image."From three perspectives,we try to propose the optimization path for mainstream media to shape the image of role models.In today’s world,the invisible war in the field of ideology is everywhere,and how to firmly grasp the leadership in the field of ideology has become a key issue for China to build a strong socialist modern country and achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Therefore,it is not only a practical necessity to enhance the effectiveness of role model education,but also a meaningful task to inspire the Chinese people to advance and move forward.
