Study On The Social Integration Model Of “Support-Identity” Community Correction Objects

As an important part of grassroots social governance,community correction is an important system to carry out the criminal policy of tempering leniency with severity and promote the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity.According to the provisions of the Community Correction Law,the purpose of community correction is to promote the smooth integration of community correction objects into society.However,as an imported product,community correction is poorly accepted by the public and often takes an isolated and excluded attitude towards the objects of community correction,which leads to numerous obstacles in the process of social integration.The study on the social integration mode of community correction objects is not the adjustment and reform of a single department,but the comprehensive governance of multiple subjects such as the government,social organizations and social citizens.It is urgent to further study and discuss how all subjects and among them cooperate to help community correction objects integrate into society and what efforts community correction objects themselves should make.Reviewing previous studies,the academic circle paid more attention to the improvement of community correction system and the construction of community correction institutions,but paid less attention to the social integration of community correction objects.In order to explore the social integration mode of community correction objects,this study takes the “registered volunteer” action of community correction objects in Y District of S city as the entry point,adopts the field survey method and the questionnaire survey method,and explores the main measures for the community correction center in Y District of S City to help the community correction objects,that is,with the support of full-time cadres,selected police officers,social workers,volunteer helpers and other subjects.Encourage the objects of community correction to become “registered volunteers”,so that the objects of community correction can obtain identity integration,social interaction integration and career integration in the volunteer service,so as to accelerate the process of social integration of the objects of community correction.Based on social support theory and social identity theory,with support network and identity as the core concepts,the research extracts the social integration model of“support-identity type” community correction objects,and expounds this model in detail from the aspects of basic connotation,generation logic,basic characteristics and applicable conditions.This model adheres to the people-oriented concept and relies on the positive interaction between the government,social organizations and the community to educate and help the objects of community correction and guide them to participate in voluntary services and other activities to repair their relationship network.With the support of the government,social organizations,community partners and other subjects,community correction objects gain a sense of identity with themselves,others and society when receiving help and helping others,awaken their own internal motivation,and thus drive themselves to actively integrate into society.The social integration model of “support-identity type” community correction objects constructs an “ecological environment” for community correction objects to inhabit,aiming at giving full play to the role of community correction objects and guiding them to absorb nutrients in voluntary service so as to have “a place to live” in the society.The proposed model is based on the innovative practice of community correction,trying to enrich the research on the social integration of community correction objects,in order to provide some theoretical and practical reference for grassroots social governance.
