With the acceleration of China’s aging, the country will actively respond to the rise of population aging as a national strategy. How to have an effect on population aging has become China’s national strategy. In November 2019,the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the medium and long term plan for the country to actively respond to population aging. In October 2020,the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee proposed to "implement the national strategy for actively responding to population aging",which clearly raised the active response to population aging to the national strategic level.Contrary to this,China has always had the cultural tradition of "drinking with joy and playing with grandchildren".With the continuous and rapid development of China’s economy and the results of family planning policies,a population result of 4-2-1 has been formed, and China’s family structure has undergone great changes. The average number of households has decreased from 3.1 in the sixth national census to2.62 in the seventh national census.Due to the increasing pace and pressure of work, urban residents often need parents’ help to take care of their young children on their working days.Young rural labor force has left their hometown and poured into the city, making the hollowing out of rural families more and more serious.Grandparents consciously assume the responsibility of taking care of their grandchildren. On May 31,the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee reviewed the decision on optimizing Fertility Policies and promoting long-term balanced development of the population, and made it clear that "a couple can have three children and supporting measures".It can be predicted that with the opening of three births, the elderly will face the choice of continuing to work or taking care of the third generation. The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward that "the main contradiction in China’s society has been transformed into the contradiction between the people’s growing need for a better life and unbalanced and insufficient development".How to resolve the contradiction between the people’s growing demand for family intergenerational care and the unbalanced and insufficient social labor force is a profound topic,This paper will explore the impact of family intergenerational care on labor decision-making and labor supply of young elderly people. The national delayed retirement policy means that it is expected to further tap the demographic dividend and encourage the elderly to continue to participate in labor. However, with the popularity of three births and the influence of China’s traditional ideas, the possibility of the elderly facing work and family conflict will increase, and the young elderly between 60 and 69 years old have just entered the old age,It is the age group with the most abundant labor resources for the elderly in China. This paper uses charls2018 data to study the impact of intergenerational care on the labor supply of the young elderly and its impact degree. The results show that: 1,intergenerational care does have a significant reverse impact on the labor decision-making and labor supply duration of the young elderly;2,Health status can significantly promote the labor participation of the elderly;3,The economic support provided to children by the young elderly will increase their labor probability and labor duration;4,There are differences in the decision-making and duration of intergenerational care on labor supply in different regions.Under the background of vigorously developing the labor resources of the elderly, according to the research conclusions, this paper puts forward four suggestions.First, increase public childcare resources to solve the pressure of family care;Secondly, adjust pension benefits and balance urban and rural retirement age;Thirdly, improve the medical security system and improve the health quality of the population; Finally, strengthen the skills training for the elderly and improve the employment policy for the elderly..
