In his important speech at the Central Ethnic Work Conference,General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that "we must cast a firm sense of Chinese ethnic community as the main line of the Party’s ethnic work in the new era,promote all ethnic groups to firmly identify highly with the great motherland,the Chinese nation,Chinese culture,the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics,and continuously promote the building of the Chinese ethnic community." This important assertion by General Secretary Xi Jinping logically unites and links the promotion of the "five identities" of the people of all ethnic groups with the main line of ethnic work of forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation.The "main line of work" of forging a firm sense of the Chinese national community points out the correct direction for the "five identities," and the "five identities" provide the "main line of work" of forging a firm sense of the Chinese national community.The "five identities" provide a solid ideological foundation for the "main line of work" of casting a firm sense of Chinese national community.The Chinese nation is a "pluralistic" pattern,and China is a multi-ethnic country,all ethnic groups should unite and help each other to promote the development of the country.Handling ethnic work is an important step to ensure national unity and ethnic unity,and an important entry point to build a sense of community among the Chinese nation.The report of the 20 th Party Congress emphasizes that constantly promoting the building of the Chinese national community is a proper way to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and that it is necessary to deeply understand the Chinese characteristics and essential requirements of Chinese-style modernization,to comprehensively build a modern socialist country,and to make the Chinese national community unbreakable.Elementary school stage is in the initial formation period of the world view,outlook on life and values in a person’s life,the fledgling physiological and psychological development and direction of primary school students take shape,primary school students,especially those in ethnic areas,their sense of Chinese national community is not only related to the healthy growth of individuals,but also related to the country and society,is the stability and harmony of ethnic border areas.It is significant to educate Chinese national community consciousness at the elementary school level.Based on the previous research,this paper combines our professional knowledge with the theory of "pluralism" education and the theory of cultural consciousness as the analytical tools,discusses and analyzes the achievements and the overall status of Chinese national community awareness education in elementary school in Tongliao City based on empirical research,sorts out the common dilemmas and analyzes the reasons behind.We propose policy recommendations to improve the guarantee mechanism of Chinese national community awareness education in elementary school in Tongliao City,such as the education department should pay high attention to and give relevant policies to guarantee the education,schools should broaden the ways of Chinese national community awareness education and innovate the cultivation methods,and guide students to establish correct values in a scientific way.
