People’s livelihood is the biggest politics and the barometer of people’s satisfaction.The livelihood problem is to solve the problem of people’s survival,life and development.The people’s satisfaction and happiness are important human factors to measure social development.Although Engels did not use the word "people’s livelihood" in his works,he had unique thoughts on people’s livelihood.The connotation of the Chinese Dream in the new era is the prosperity of the country,the revitalization of the nation and the happiness of the people.The purpose of the CPC is to serve the people wholeheartedly.Therefore,people’s livelihood is an important issue in building socialism with Chinese characteristics.In the new era,it has important theoretical significance and practical value to study Engels’ thought of people’s liveliho The paper makes a comprehensive study of Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood by using the methods of literature research and historical research.This paper consists of an introduction and four chapters.The introduction part describes the purpose and significance of the study of Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood,the current research situation and shortcomings of domestic and foreign scholars,as well as the research methods and innovations of this paper.The first chapter describes the formation background and theoretical source of Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood,namely the humanitarianism in the enlightenment thought,the equality view of utopian socialists and Marx’s mass history view.The second chapter is the core of the whole paper,which systematically expounds the main content and theoretical characteristics of Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood.Engels advocated the establishment of a just living environment,an equal education system,a coordinated urban-rural development relationship,a perfect social welfare system and an optimistic employment prospect.Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood is scientific,people-oriented,practical and critical.The third chapter expounds the logical starting point,logical main line and logical purpose of Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood.Engels took the needs of human survival and development as the starting point of the internal logic of the people’s livelihood thought;Take human’s material production activities and social and political activities as the main line of logic;Take the free and comprehensive development of human beings as the logical goal.The fourth chapter expounds the theoretical value and practical value of Engels’ livelihood thought.Engels’ thought of people’s livelihood enriches the Marxist mass historical view,improves the Marxist concept of justice,and helps to deeply understand scientific and social socialism.Engels’ thought on people’s livelihood shows the advantages of the socialist system,is conducive to achieving common prosperity for all people,and is conducive to playing the role of national social management.The innovation of this paper lies in a more detailed summary of the content and theoretical characteristics of Engels’ livelihood thought.Through research,this paper believes that on the new journey of the second century’s struggle,China’s livelihood construction should be improved from three aspects: consolidating the material foundation of livelihood construction,enriching the spiritual pursuit of livelihood construction,and solving the virtuous cycle of development and ecology.
