| The public health emergencies have a huge impact on the social economy and people’s lives,causing most of the public to feel fear,anger,anxiety and stressful.On the one hand,the sharing and dissemination of these negative emotions through social media platforms can easily stimulate and accelerate the breeding and spread of relevant public opinions,and even lead to new public crises.On the other hand,social media platforms are important channels for public emotional expression and political participation.They provide the possibility for the government to collect,organize and analyze public attitudes and predict the development direction of public opinion in a short period of time,which is of great importance to the government’s policy adjustment and measure formulation.In the current response to the COVID-19,governments around the world have adopted many policies to ensure the safety of the public.The public has also formed positive interactions with the government through social media platforms to express their policy attitudes and emotional needs.Based on the particularity and representativeness of the policy,this study took China’s "delayed of school opening" policy as a research case.Using python to crawl the content of Weibo platform users’ postings on this topic,and using Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count to assign a value to the user’s emotion.At the same time,this study uses Logit linear regression and Kruskal-Wallis test to carry out data analysis to explore the differences in public policy sentiment feedback in different regions and different genders.This study found that:(1)The introduction of public policies of public health emergencies is the government’s response to public emotion based on the premise of event crisis judgment;(2)There are regional differences in the public’s emotional feedback on public policies of public health emergencies,which are related to multiple factors such as the severity of the impact of the epidemic and the level of economic development in their regions;(3)There are gender differences in the public’s emotional feedback on public policies of public health emergencies,which are related to the natural and social attributes of gender.This study filled the deficiency that public sentiment research in traditional crisis situations is seldom carried out by regions and groups,hoping to provide research experience for government to effectively resolve public negative emotions and accurately release policy signals. |
