Monetary Thought is an important part of Marx’s economic thought.Money is a familiar and unfamiliar word.Its influence on mankind is far-reaching and huge.However,in real life,our monetary form has become increasingly digital and virtualized,which not only facilitates our life,but also brings many problems.For example,people will not notice the loss of money when consuming;There are also problems that some people become "misers".The economic manuscript from 1857 to1858 is an important document for Marx to systematically expound the Monetary Thought for the first time.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the Monetary Thought and use it to guide the reality.The main structure of this paper is divided into three parts.The first part analyzes the theoretical source and development process of Marx’s Monetary Thought and the position of economic manuscript from 1857 to 1858 in Marx’s monetary thought.This part first points out that Marx critically inherited classical economics,western philosophy and utopian socialists,so as to establish his own monetary thought;Secondly,it points out that Marx’s monetary thought has experienced from humanistic criticism to the perspective of historical materialism,and then to the criticism of monetary fetishism;Finally,it is pointed out that the economic manuscript from 1857 to 1858 is a transitional document in the mature period of Marx’s monetary thought.The second part is the Monetary Thought in the economic manuscript from 1857 to 1858.First of all,money is essentially a special commodity that is independent from commodities and represents the value of other commodities;Secondly,the form of money is developing with the development of society.Precious metal money is a special form,and the outflow of precious metals will not lead to economic crisis;Thirdly,money has three basic functions: value scale,circulation means and the representative of material wealth;Finally,money as money is essentially different from money as capital,and money will be transformed into capital.The third part is the contemporary value of Monetary Thought in economic manuscripts from 1857 to 1858.First of all,we should treat money correctly and oppose money worship;Secondly,the relational thinking used by Marx to analyze money and the sublation of empiricism provide us with a new research perspective;Thirdly,monetary relations promote the establishment of equal relations between people;Finally,Marx’s monetary thought can also provide theoretical guidance for the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics.
