As an ideal goal pursued by human society, equality is a topic of widespread concern and heated discussion in the academic circles. In recent years, the collision of cultures and values between countries, people’s needs for self-development and the pursuit of a better life have made how to correctly view different concepts of equality and achieve true equality a hot issue. With the advent of the new era,my country has also launched a more in-depth exploration of the realization of equality. From the inclusion of "equality" into the core socialist values ??at the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,to the transformation of the main social contradiction proposed at the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,to the promotion of equality by common prosperity at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee, this process not only reflects my country’s attention to equality issues also includes expectations for the realization of equality.Based on this, reviewing Marx’s classic works and exploring his views on equality issues can better deal with the current inequality issues facing China and build a socialist equality system with Chinese characteristics. Therefore, this article selects "Critique of the Gotha Program",through exploring Marx’s criticism of La Salle’s view of equality, searching for the scientific methodology used by Marx when discussing the issue of equality, and summarizing and sorting out the main content of Marx’s equality thought. In order to deepen the understanding of Marx’s thought of equality,in order to carry out more in-depth research on its theoretical value and practical value. In addition to the "Introduction",this article consists of the following four chapters:The first chapter discusses the historical background and theoretical origin of Marx’s equality. The rapid development of capitalism, the emergence of internal contradictions in capitalist society, the rise of the labor movement, and the response and criticism of La Salle doctrine provided the material basis and conditions for its emergence;the modern bourgeois idea of equality and the equality in German classical philosophy Thoughts and the equal thoughts of utopian socialists provide a theoretical source for its emergence. The second chapter discusses Marx’s criticism of La Salle’s view of equality.Firstly,it analyzes Marx’s criticism of the main content of the La Salle doctrine of equality, then expounds Marx’s criticism of the realization path of the La Salle doctrine of equality, and finally points out Marx’s exposure to the true nature of La Salle doctrine of equality. The third chapter combs the main content of Marx’s equality. It includes the foundation of historical materialism, the core of communism, and the path of equality realization of Marx’s equality thought. Finally,it briefly explains the theoretical status of Marx’s equality thought. The fourth chapter analyzes the characterization and realistic enlightenment of Marx’s equality. This chapter firstly summarizes and sorts out the evolution of Marx’s thought of equality in our country.Secondly,it combines Marx’s equality thought with the social reality of our country, and studies and analyzes the contemporary value of Marx’s equality thought.
