The First Batch Of National Traditional Chinese Medicine Service Export Base Website Translation Practice Repor

Guided by the theory of Eco-translatology,the author chooses the web profiles of 17 TCM service export bases as source texts,and takes the profiles of nine overseas organizations as parallel texts for research and reference whose expressions conform to the English linguistic norms.The nine parallel texts also have similar communicative functions as the source texts.The author then formulates corresponding translation strategies and methods by summarizing and analyzing the common ground and differences between Chinese and Western publicity texts at three levels: the expression norm and written language are discussed by comparing the linguistic differences and formality between English and Chinese in linguistic dimension;the cultural transmission is discussed by analyzing the translation of slogans,data lists,cultural loads and ideologies in cultural dimension;in the communicative dimension,the information needs and reading abilities of the target readers are discussed by comparing the contents and structures between Chinese and Western publicity texts to achieve the expected effect.This translation report has five parts.The first part is an introduction to the translation task,including the background,content,method and significance.The second part is the preparation process: the guiding theory and parallel text are prepared before the translation;the target texts based on three dimensional transformation are finished according to the comparison and analysis between the source texts and parallel texts during the translation;after completing the proofreading,the content and structure of the target texts are adjusted under the perspective of the communicative dimension.The third part is an explication on the theory of Eco-translatology and its application.The fourth part is a case study in three dimensions guided by Eco-translatology.The last part is a summary about the translation practice.
