"The Police pension System" aims to provide material and spiritual care to police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty and their families, and is also a material benefit that police officers are entitled to under the law.During the period of the Republic of China government, wars were frequent, and the duties of the police were not only to maintain public order but also to bear the responsibility of defending against foreign enemies and participating in wars. Therefore, the casualties of the police force were very serious during the wartime. The Republic of China government recognized the importance of this issue, and providing material and spiritual care to police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty and their families became a necessary task.Based on this, the Republic of China government absorbed and learned from the Western pension system and the Chinese pension concept, and established a pension system suitable for police officers. The article is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction. The author elaborates on the research topic and significance of the early police pension system of the Beiyang government, the research status, research methods, and innovation points through the collection of relevant historical materials. The second part is the first chapter, which shows the historical background of the police pension system during the Republic of China period from three perspectives: the pension system of the late Qing Dynasty, the Beiyang government, and the Nanjing Provisional Government, the reference to the pension system of Western countries, and the need for the government to maintain its ruling security. The third part is the main body of the thesis, covering the second and third chapters. The second chapter focuses on the pension policy during the Beiyang government period and elaborates on the basic policies and actual measures of the police pension system during that period, including the establishment of police pension organizations, the setting of specialized laws and regulations, and the division of pension funds and pension objects. The third chapter mainly studies how to promote and construct their own police pension system based on the inheritance and continuation of the police pension system during the Beiyang period from the establishment of the National Government in Nanjing in 1927 to the outbreak of the full-scale war.The fourth part is the conclusion, consisting of the historical evaluation and conclusion of the police pension system during the Republic of China period. In the Republic of China period, the police pension work achieved some success to a certain extent.Through pension measures,it helped to alleviate the difficulties of the police and their families, and had a positive impact on maintaining the image of the government and the combat effectiveness of police officers. However, there were also some problems with the pension work, such as poor implementation and uneven distribution of pension funds.Although the Republic of China government formulated a relatively scientific pension system, the actual effect of the pension system was not ideal due to financial pressure and other reasons.
