After the official implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the state vigorously promotes physical education and aesthetic education to relieve students’ stress and reduce their burden.Latin dance is a sport combining sports and dance,which has been loved by young people since it was introduced to China in the 1980 s.However,in the actual research,it was found that due to the influence of traditional teaching method for a long time,the teaching effect of Latin dance is not ideal,and the problems such as lack of accurate skill mastery and low interest in learning seriously hinder the development of students’ technical level.The program teaching method takes students as the main body,focuses on individual differences of students,and emphasizes the principles of small steps and low error rate,which is more conducive to students’ understanding and mastering the learning content.Therefore,this paper tries to apply the procedural teaching method to the teaching of Latin dance for young people,and improve students’ interest in learning and technical level by improving teaching methods and preparing scientific teaching procedures.Experimental research was conducted using scientific research methods such as literature method and experimental method.Twenty-eight girls aged 13-14 years old who were beginning to learn Latin dance in Zibo Yunwu Art Training School were selected as experimental subjects and randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Through a twelve-week teaching experiment,we explored whether the program teaching method could enhance students’ physical quality,improve Latin dance technique,stimulate learning interest and put forward relevant suggestions according to the problems observed during the experiment.The following results were obtained from the analysis:In terms of physical quality,there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of strength quality after the teaching experiment(P > 0.05),and significant differences were shown in the two items of cross quadrant jump and seated forward bend(P < 0.05).(2)In terms of the technical level of Latin dance,there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in two aspects of music rhythm and atmosphere after the experiment(P>0.05);in the six indexes of body posture,foot movements,Latin movements,basic movements,start-movement-end,rotation and turning the experimental group was significantly better than the control group,and showed significant differences(P <0.05).(3)In terms of interest in learning,there were significant differences between the two groups in six areas: positive interest,negative interest,motor participation,autonomy and inquiry,attention to Latin dance,and knowledge of Latin dance(p < 0.05).The following conclusions were drawn from the study:(1)The procedural teaching method is conducive to improving the coordination and flexibility qualities of students,while the improvement of strength qualities is not obvious.(2)The program teaching method can promote the improvement of Latin dance technical level,which can effectively reduce the learning difficulty of Latin dance movements and help students master the technical movements more quickly and firmly in class.(3)The procedural teaching method can stimulate students’ interest in learning and motivate them in class.
