Books are one of the important carriers for human beings to spread knowledge,transmit ideas and inherit civilization.With the development of society and the progress of human manufacturing technology,book design has become more complex and diversified.Three-dimensional manual books,as a special form of books,combine rich artistic images,special structure of paper art and manual production,break through the limitation of twodimensional space in the reading of traditional flat books,popularize knowledge and convey information to readers in a three-dimensional way,and create multi-level reading experience for readers.The characteristics of pop-up books themselves make it easier to attract primary school students’ interest in reading and stimulate their thirst for knowledge,desire for exploration and creativity.The development of middle school pop-up book handmade courses and the introduction of them into art teaching can not only enrich the curriculum resources of the art stage in primary school,but also promote students to deepen their understanding of pop-up books in learning and form the consciousness of loving books and reading.In this paper,the development of pop-up book handmade curriculum for grades 3 to4 in middle school is taken as the research topic,and there are five parts in addition to the introduction and conclusion.The first part,through a large number of literature study,summarizes and analyzes the basic concept,development process and artistic characteristics of pop-up books,focuses on the unique characteristics of pop-up books and the effective value that can be mined.At the same time,from the tangible entity and children’s active two aspects,expounds the learning of pop-up books in line with the development of children’s nature.The second part,according to the various versions of art textbooks on the market,grasp the presentation of pop-up books in the middle school art textbooks,analyze the hidden curriculum related to pop-up books in the primary school art textbooks,and propose to introduce the explicit curriculum of pop-up books handmade in the primary school art.At the same time,based on the above analysis,discuss the educational value of introducing the pop-up book manual making course into the art teaching of middle school.The third part,through effective selection of art curriculum resources related to this research theme,combined with pop-up book characteristics for exploratory learning and project-based teaching,discusses the development and teaching strategies of this course,in order to prepare for the implementation of "Ten views of the West Lake" as the theme of the pop-up book manual course in middle school.The fourth part is teaching practice,through the design of three different learning areas of art courses,closely combined pop-up book manual production and middle school art teaching.The fifth part summarizes,reflects and looks forward to the research on the development of the pop-up book handmade course.Through theoretical research and practical teaching,this study determined "Ten views of the West Lake" as the theme of this pop-up book handmade course,and brought it into the art teaching of middle school students.On the one hand,students are guided to solve problems in real situations based on their previous learning and life experiences,and to boldly create through different learning methods and various media.On the other hand,it also deepens students’ understanding of local culture,promotes students to form good emotional attitudes and values,and forms the core quality of art curriculum.It is hoped that this theoretical and practical exploration can provide help for future art educators to develop and teach pop-up books related courses.
