Simple Gaze-Antonio Lopez Garcia’s Figurative Painting Language And My Creative Practice

Antonio Lopez Garcia(hereinafter Lopez)is a very representative figurative realist painter in the contemporary art world.Throughout his artistic history,Lopez’s style is derived from the classical Western tradition of painting,always adhering to realism and learning from nature and the Western classical masters.However,his work is not simply an imitation of the classical masters;Lopez is very much of his time,constantly learning and combining elements from contemporary art to develop a highly personal style.Lopez lived in a time of war,cultural change,stereotypical teaching patterns in art schools,the reconstruction of the art world and the flourishing of new artistic styles,all of which had many influences on the direction of his artistic career,a feeling that is also shared by those of us living and studying in our own time.In this age of information,where various cultural styles,art forms and expressions are frantically impacting on the mind and the eye,it is easy to become confused and torn about the choice of artistic direction,subject matter and form of expression.In the midst of today’s blossoming art forms,how to realise the value of figurative art creation and express its unique artistic charm.This paper is therefore an in-depth study of Lopez’s artistic development,an analysis of the deep relationship between the artist’s artistic style and the environment in which he lived,and how he finally settled on his own artistic style and subject matter after repeated explorations,as well as providing some guidelines and reflections for his own artistic creation.Through the analysis and research of Antonio Lopez’s related works and artistic styles in this article,I can have a more complete understanding of Lopez’s painting field,which has important implications and significance for my future painting and development.Observing and studying Lopez’s artistic works has greatly improved my own artistic creation level and aesthetic cultivation.I have also conducted a series of learning and practice,and personally experienced the vitality and practical significance of contemporary realism.
