Social anxiety is an important risk factor threatening the social function of adolescence and is very common among adolescents, which may hinder the completion of psychological development tasks and the shaping of self-consciousness and lead to a series of negative psychological health consequences. On the other hand, social autistic traits continue to exist in typical developing people and has the characteristics of social interaction, communication and difficulty in facing social cues. Therefore,it’s necessary to understand the mechanism of social anxiety in individuals with high social autistic traits and intervene to improve their mental health. The cognitive behavioral model of social anxiety emphasizes that social anxiety is related to the inconsistency between negative self-imagery and the self as seen by the audience, while anxiety sensitivity resulting from irrational beliefs will lead to negative self-imagery and perspective taking is related to the self as seen by the audience. Therefore, this study explored the role of anxiety sensitivity and perspective taking in social anxiety of individuals with high social autistic traits and intervened on this basis to reduce the level of social anxiety, specifically including two sub-studies:Study 1 uses the Social Anxiety Scale: Adolescents, the Autism-Spectrum Quotient, the Anxiety Sensitivity Index-3 and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index scale to explore the level and relationship of social anxiety, social autistic traits, anxiety sensitivity and perspective taking. The results showed that social autistic traits were significantly positively correlated with social anxiety, anxiety sensitivity was significantly positively correlated with social autistic traits and social anxiety, and perspective taking was significantly negatively correlated with social autism traits and social anxiety;Anxiety sensitivity plays a mediating role between social autistic traits and social anxiety;Perspective taking regulates the latter half of the mediating effect of anxiety sensitivity between social autistic traits and social anxiety.Study 2 adopted a two-factor mixed design and repeated measurement analysis of variance. On the basis of study 1,12 students with high social autistic traits were selected to participate in online group counseling of anxiety sensitivity, and 12 students with high social autism traits were selected to participate in online group counseling of other subjects unrelated to the intervention content,to test whether the group counseling program can effectively reduce the level of anxiety sensitivity and social anxiety of the subjects. The results showed that anxiety sensitivity group counseling based on cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively reduce anxiety sensitivity and alleviate social anxiety. The above results indicate that high school students with high social autistic traits have higher levels of social anxiety and anxiety sensitivity. After 8 weeks of anxiety sensitivity group counseling, the anxiety sensitivity level and social anxiety level of the experimental group were significantly reduced. This indicates that the group counseling program designed in this study has a good intervention effect on reducing the anxiety sensitivity and alleviating social anxiety of high school students with high social autism traits.
