A Study On The Relationship Between Autistic Traits, Alexithymia And Social Avoidance Among High School Students And Their Interventio

The concept of autistic traits has evolved from research on autism spectrum disorders.However,there are many people around us who have high autistic traits,but do not meet the criteria for clinical diagnosis.We call this a high autistic trait group,a group that has similar but less pronounced autistic traits in emotional expression and social interaction.Middle school students are in the golden age of physical and mental development.If they have too high level of autism trait and lack of timely guidance and intervention,it may have adverse effects on their socialization and non-socialization process.Previous studies have shown that autism is correlated with alexithymia and social avoidance to some extent,but no scholars have explored the relationship between these three.Therefore,this study aims to investigate the correlation among autistic traits,alexithymia and social avoidance among high school students,and further explore the intervention effect of group counseling on alexithymia and social avoidance.This study consists of two parts.In the first study,a total of 1656 high school students from Anhui and Hunan provinces were selected as subjects by convenient sampling,and the Social Avoidance and Distress Questionnaire(SAD),Autism Quotient Questionnaire(AQ),and Toronto Alexymia Scale(TAS-20)were used as measuring tools.To investigate the relationship among autistic traits,alexithymia and social avoidance,and to examine the mediating role of alexithymia between autistic traits and social avoidance.Study 2 on the basis of study 1,select a school in Hengyang City 34 high school students with high autism characteristics as the research object,and then the experimental group and control group of random allocation,17 people each,the control group does not do any intervention,and the experimental group for eight weeks Alexithymia group counseling intervention,To explore the effectiveness of group counseling in reducing the level of alexithymia and social avoidance of high autism trait senior one students.The results are as follows:(1)In terms of gender,grade,class leader or not,only child or not,and family location,high school students have obvious differences in social avoidance.In terms of gender,grade,class leader or not,only child or not,and family location,the characteristics of high school students with autism have obvious differences.In terms of grade,alexithymia of high school students has obvious difference.(2)There is a significant correlation among the three variables of autism,alexithymia and social avoidance among high school students.(3)Autistic traits can not only directly predict social avoidance,but also indirectly predict social avoidance through the partial mediating effect of alexithymia.That is,the higher the level of autistic traits in high school students,the higher the level of alexithymia,and thus the higher the level of social avoidance.(4)The group counseling program for alexithymia in this study had certain effects,and both alexithymia and social avoidance were improved in the experimental group,indicating that this program can effectively reduce the level of alexithymia in high school students with high autism traits,and then reduce their level of social avoidance.
