The region of Shaoxing lies on the "Tang Poetry Road in East Zhejiang" and boasts a wealth of landscape poetry resources.This essay explores the application of Theme-Based Teaching of landscape poetry in eastern Zhejiang(Shaoxing),which involves conducting teaching research and designing instruction.Using questionnaires and classroom observation as the main methods,this essay explores the following three issues: Firstly,can theme-based teaching enhance students’ interest in learning classical Chinese poetry and improve the teaching efficiency of the classroom? Secondly,how to integrate regional landscape poetry with theme-based teaching,utilizing local resources to facilitate teaching implementation and enhance students’ understanding of regional culture? Finally,what teaching themes align with local teaching practices and promote the smooth development of landscape poetry activities?This essay takes a practical approach to teaching the Chinese language to overseas Chinese students,drawing from the author’s teaching experience at Hailiang Education International Students College.The instructional design of landscape poetry in eastern Zhejiang(Shaoxing)follows a theme-based approach,including five unit themes,eight secondary themes,and related cultural themes.In terms of specific instructional design,this essay selects Wen Tingyun’s "South Lake" and He Chao’s "Nanshan" as teaching content based on thematic teaching.Regarding instructional design and cultural teaching,the two poems have different emphases."South Lake" focuses on water culture,while "South Mountain" focuses on mythological culture.In the instructional design,we emphasize the uniqueness of landscape poetry texts and incorporate regional resources into cultural teaching,highlighting the teaching requirements of cultural lessons.This essay draws the following conclusions based on the conducted research: Firstly,theme-based teaching of landscape poetry can effectively stimulate students’ enthusiasm and enhance classroom efficiency.Secondly,selecting teaching themes relevant to local culture and utilizing local cultural resources can further enhance students’ engagement.In addition,regional poetry can significantly enhance students’ understanding of regional and Chinese culture.
