This paper takes the paintings of expressionist artists represented by Edvard Munch(1863-1944)as the research object,puts forward the concept of emotional language,and discusses this concept from three levels.First,it analyzes the reasons for the emergence of emotional language from the perspective of artistic development,and expounds the transmission and meaning of emotions in painting art.It briefly introduces the development process of emotional expression in Western painting art and transmits the carrier from the theme,image,composition,color,brushstroke,etc.,and briefly introduces how expressionist artists express their privatized emotions in painting art.Second,the language of emotions is used as an image analysis method for the practical application of specific works.This part focuses on the artist Edvard Munch,studies the meaning of emotional language expression in his artistic creation,and analyzes the value of emotional language in artistic practice based on the expression methods of specific emotional language.Third,it describes the application of emotional language as a creative theory in art practice.Further interpret the meaning of emotional language transmission and apply emotional language to creation from the perspective of practitioners.The artist’s personal special emotional language expression often arouses strong emotional resonance from the viewer,thus establishing a connection between the two that is not limited by time and space.Since the end of the 18 th century,painting has gradually tended to express,and people’s highly personal artistic expression has become an inevitable cultural development,thus expanding the aesthetic boundaries of art to a certain extent.This paper will start from reality,through the expression of emotional language in painting and the innovative integration of inner emotions,and finally carry out the practical exploration of artistic painting.This creation has realized the transformation from realistic painting,that is,the depiction of objective things,to refining one’s own personalized painting emotional language and then creating practice.Fully reflecting the change in attitude to life and way of understanding the world,it is a kind of painting experience and theoretical understanding of the combined effect.
