The study of STEAM in China starts from 2013.Subsequently,China’s Ministry of Education issued relevant policies in 2015 and 2016 respectively to encourage the teaching exploration of STEAM education concept.On the basis of consulting a large number of literature,this paper combs the development process of STEAM education concept and its application in the field of music education.STEAM education concept is the predecessor of STEM education concept,after long-term practice and development,formed the current STEAM education concept.Music lessons integrated into STEAM education concept,from the initial piano lessons,to later singing lessons,appreciation lessons,more and more diversified classes.The teaching target also from the primary school,gradually developed for college students and non-school music lovers.This paper combines STEAM education concept with music lesson "Cherry Blossom" in junior high school,and conducts STEAM teaching practice research on the song "Cherry Blossom" from three aspects of "scale ladder chart",PBL(special learning)and Seewo(White board of Seewo).The "scale ladder Chart" creatively graphizes the scale of all scales,arouses students’ thinking of images,and enables students to learn the scale of all scales more intuitively.PBL(Special Subject Learning)is one of the classical teaching modes of STEAM education.Through the implementation of PBL(special Subject Learning)teaching mode,it brings the opportunity of music creation to the teaching of cherry Blossom.Seewo whiteboard is being used in many schools.The proper use of Seewo in teaching makes the knowledge review of Cherry Blossom more interesting than the traditional teaching before.These teaching links have both operability and popularity,which has certain reference value for music teaching in junior middle school.
