| This practice report is based on analyses of my consecutive interpreting task for an American curriculum STEAM lecture.On April 15~thh of 2018,two American STEAM curriculum experts,Miss Nancy Stewart and Mr.Daniel Zongrone,were invited to attend the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Future School Education Symposium at Baihe School in Fuping County,Hebei Province.They gave a detailed introduction to STEAM curriculum at the symposium.I was entrusted by the organizing committee of the symposium to do the without-note conference consecutive interpreting for the STEAM lecture.This practice report consists of four chapters:task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.Chapter 1 is about the source,main content and significance of this interpreting task.Chapter 2 is about the three steps of the task:pre-interpretation preparations,in-interpretation operation and post-interpretation summary.Chapter 3 is the main body of this practice report.In this chapter,according to the interpreting process recording,I analyzed and summarized the interpreting strategies applied in the interpreting process and the problems of my interpreting.Chapter 4 is the conclusion on the experience and lessons that I gained in this interpreting task.Hopefully,this practice report can be beneficial for other interpreters and researchers who are jointly committed to the study and research of conference consecutive interpretation.In this way,I can make a modest contribution to the practice of the same type of interpretation. |
