| This translation practice report is based on the translation practice of the book Rapeseed Oil Processing Technology.The book was edited by Luo Qiu,He Dongping and Lei Fenfen.This report analyzed focus on rapeseed and rapeseed oil,storage of rapeseed and drying of rapeseed.As a technical text,the book is both authoritative and readable compared to other books of its kind.This report chooses Hans Vermeer’s Skopos theory as the guiding theory.There are three principles in Skopos theory: the Skopos principle,coherence principle and fidelity principle.Among them,the Skopos principle is the core principle.Skopos theory holds that translation is a cross-cultural human communication activity with a clear purpose,which determines the translation methods and skills that translators need to adopt.Therefore,in order to reduce the reading and understanding obstacles of target language readers,increase the readability,coherence and acceptability of the translation,make the translation more in line with the expression habits of the target language,and achieve the communicative purpose of the translation,this report comprehensively uses a variety of translation methods at the lexical,syntactic and textual level under the guidance of Skopos theory,such as lexical conversion,sentence order adjuestment,logical relation explicitness,etc.This translation practice report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the background of the translated text,the meaning of translation and the framework of the thesis.The second chapter briefly introduces the implementation process of translation tasks,including three stages: pre-translation,while-translation and post-translation.The third chapter systematically introduces the translation theory of Hans Vermeer.The fourth chapter is case analysis,under the guidance of Skopos theory,the translator flexibly applies the three principles of Skopos theory to solve the problems encountered in the translation of Rapeseed Oil Processing Technology.The fifth chapter concludes the translation practice and summarizes the findings and Limitations in the translation practice report.Through this translation practice,the translator found Hans.Vermeer’s Skopos theory is instructive and applicable to the translation of food and technology text and can guide translators to effectively solve the difficulties in C-E translation,and improve the quality of translation. |
