Artificial Intelligence is a frontier technology in the global scientific field and its development is very promising.In order to develop creative and empathetic intelligent machines,humans need to understand and safeguard the mental health of intelligent machines.To acquire the latest knowledge in this field,translating and studying cutting-edge works by foreign scholars is one of the effective ways.This thesis adopts Al AND DEVELOPING HUMAN INTELLIGENCE: Future Learning and Educational Innovation(Chapter 7)as the translation material.Chapter 7 is an informative text.It tells that with the development of AI,human beings need to pay close attention to the common psychological characteristics of AI and Human Intelligence.By designing mental health treatment interventions for intelligent machines,they can maintain creativity and empathy.The text is scientific and technical with so many proper nouns.The sentences are long and complex,and the text is tightly connected and logical.There are many typical translation cases when dealing with the text.The translation of informative text is explored at three levels under the guidance of skopos theory.At the lexical level,the translation is analyzed from the perspective of lexical conversion,domestication into four-character words,and word order conversion.At the syntactic level,how to achieve the ideal translation effect is explored from the perspective of amplification,omission and division.At the textual level,text translation is studied through substitution and conjunction in grammatical cohesion.The translation materials selected in this report are relatively new and have certain theoretical and practical significance.It is hoped to stimulate readers’ interest in AI and promote the development of AI.The translator chooses Skopos Theory to guide the output of translation practice,improve the quality of translation,and explore translation techniques and methods for translating this type of text,so as to provide reference for future practice.
