A Study On The Musical Characteristics And Singing Of Lin Daiyu In A Dream Of Red Mansion

"Dream of Red Mansions" is the first of the four great masterpieces of Chinese literature.It is mainly set against the background of the early Qing Dynasty’s official and aristocratic Jia mansion.Through the in-depth and detailed portrayal of hundreds of characters,it vividly shows the various social classes at that time.Mr.Wang Liping’s score for the 87 film and TV version of A Dream of Red Mansions is very popular with the audience because of its delicate emotion and graceful melody.This paper starts with the analysis of Lin Daiyu’s three theme songs in the 87 film and television version of A Dream of Red Mansions,namely "Three Wonders","Autumn Window Rain and Rain" and "Singing of Buried Flowers".Combining with Lin Daiyu’s personality characteristics,this paper elaborates the three works in detail from the aspects of background,artistic characteristics and singing exploration.This paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first part is a brief overview of the original work A Dream of Red Mansions and the 87 film and TV version of A Dream of Red Mansions,as well as a brief introduction of composer Wang Liping and his interlude style of A Dream of Red Mansions.The second part is the summary and analysis of Lin Daiyu’s character image and the music characteristics of the main representative songs;The third part is combined with the pronunciation,breath,opera tone and other aspects of the application of the song singing to explore and analyze,strive to have a deeper understanding of the works,grasp the emotion and connotation of the works,for their singing to provide a more solid theoretical basis and practical basis.
