The Field Investigation And Research On Troupe,Plays And Intangible Cultural Heritage Of Shouning Beilu Operas Of Fujian Province

Beilu Opera in Shouning County,Ningde City is an ancient opera in the east of Fujian Province.Since early Qing Dynasty,the North China Bangzi Opera and the Luantan Tune have been spread southward through Anhui,Jiangxi and Zhejiang into northern and eastern Fujian,and then formed Beilu Opera.Based on the Shouning Beilu Opera Troup--the only professional organization of Beilu Opera,this paper will discuss the origin and evolution of Beilu Opera,the development and current situation of the troupe,the plays and the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage by field study and relevant materials,so as to display the cultural value and connotation,and explore the survival dilemma and development direction of Beilu Opera in the new era.The Shouning Beilu Opera Troup has experienced several historical stages since1985,including its establishment,rapid development,decline,revival and difficult exploration.In terms of stage performance,Beilu Opera has its own unique features in melody,singing,type of roles,stylized acting,instruments,stage design,etc.With the development of society,people start trying to perform in new ways.However,it still exists obvious deficiencies,such the modernization of singing,the lack of talents and insufficient ability of young actors.In terms of plays,forty-six plays of Beilu Opera has been collected so far,including traditional plays and new plays,which are compiled from folk stories,legends or real events.Most types of plays are entire scripts and excerpts,and include historical plays,fairy plays,modern plays and so forth.In terms of the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage,although Shouning Beilu Opera Troupe has made great progress in its operation,collection and record of related materials,academic research,publicity,performance and campus activities,the rapid development of this age still bring strong attack and huge challenge to Beilu Opera.Therefore,Beilu Opera and its troupe should focus more on the innovation of plays,talents training,government support and publicity work in order to advance in a new direction.
