Lin Jinlan’s Acceptance And Transformation Of Narrative Experience In Chinese And Foreign Novels

It has become a tradition in the development of modern Chinese novels to draw lessons from the narrative resources of foreign novels and combine them with the narrative experience of local novels so as to obtain the power of sustainable development.As a contemporary Chinese writer,Lin Jinlan not only devoted himself to creating short novels all his life,but also made unremitting efforts to discuss short novels.His literary theory and novels reflect his attention and reference to the narrative experience of Chinese and foreign novels.In the process of summarizing the narrative experience of Chinese and foreign novels,Lin Jinlan actively engaged in dialogue with famous novelists of ancient and modern times.In the creation of novels,Lin Jinlan took the experience as the guide,and consciously borrowed and transformed the narrative experience of Chinese and foreign novels,so that his novel creation presented a unique meaning and style.The paper gives consideration to Lin’s theoretical thinking and creative practice,while exploring the context of Lin’s novels,it is also committed to discovering the uniqueness of Lin’s novels.The introduction part summarizes the research status,and states the reason of topic selection and research ideas.The paper is divided into three chapters to discuss Lin’s acceptance and transformation of narrative experience in Chinese and foreign novels.Chapter one discusses Lin’s reference to the narrative tradition of ancient Chinese novels.Lin inherited the tradition of legends and stories,and borrowed from the ancient novels such as Unofficial History of The scholars,Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio and Dream of the Red chamber.Chapter two discusses the continuation of Lin’s narrative experience in modern Chinese novels.Lin reflected and summarized the experience and lessons in the development of short novels since modern times.On the one hand,Lin consciously transmitted the ideological proposition of Lu Xun’s novels and deeply understood Lu Xun’s novel techniques;on the other hand,Lin kept an eye on the bad tendency in the development of novels,such as performing something mechanically,which are reflected in the elaboration of themes and reappraisal of sketches.The third chapter discusses Lin’s acceptance and transformation of foreign novel narrative resources.Inspired by foreign literature and trends of thought,Lin received foreign novel narrative resources in a specific literary context with a special psychological basis.In his novels,it is mainly manifested as drawing lessons from psychoanalysis to write absurd experience and pursue to judge the ugly.The conclusion points out that the fusion of the above three aspects of narrative experience created Lin’s novel creation.
