Lin Jinlan wrote short stories all long his life. He is a writer who experienced"Seventeen Years"and"New Period". His short stories, especially those he wrote in New Period, are different from some other writers'whom lived in the same period. And he made a contribution to Contemporary Chinese Literature. However, literary critics have not attached importance to his works. He didn't get the position that he should receive. Lin Jinlan is a writer who should not be forgotten. The whole article is divided into three parts which mainly analyze and discuss Lin Jinlan's works from structure, language and narrative mode. And the article points out the reference he got from Traditional Chinese Stories and also his Innovation based on it.Chapter one mainly discuss the structure of his works. Lin learned nutrition from traditional novel and have a innovation."Blankness"is come from theory of painting, and he applied it to the structure of his novels. The use of blankness has a very important position in he works. Comparison of structure is used very general in his works, and the arrangement of plot structure in his works are all have contrast obviously. In addition, the use of cross-sectional structure and series of novels structure make the writer include more social contents and rich ideological content.Chapter Two mainly analyze and study the language features of his works. He stressed the importance of language many times in his literary criticism. The language of his works which written in New Period was known as"difficult to understand". The article discusses language features of his works wholly based on the careful research. His novels including many Wenzhou dialect, common sayings, analogy and Strengthen. All the three features is the reason of the conformation of"difficult to understand".Chapter Three mainly discuss the narrative mode of his works. From New Period, his novels had a big change. The conversion of narrative mode is a very important aspect. His novels applied omniscient and omnipotent narrative point of view, the view of tackle the touch problems in a very easy manner, and the tactics of there would be short and no words were long.And all these are based on the inheritance and the creation of ways and means of traditional narrative. His characters are new ways of novel writing, and inject new vitality to the narration of contemporary Chinese novels.Lin Jinlan pared with Wang Zengqi, both of them were called literary double jobe. In the past, he also specialized in short stores, but obviously he was not famous as Wang.
