High school students,as the backbone of the realization of the "Chinese Dream" in the future,are indispensable participants in the prosperity of the motherland.High school students are in a sensitive and special stage of development.Whether their self-identity can be well formed and developed has a great impact on the life of high school students or the development of the country.According to high school students’ own characteristics and psychological development law,promoting high school students’ self-identity development and clarifying their future development direction plays an important role in their mental health development in the process of life growth.In this study,the self-Identity Scale,Emotional Intelligence Scale and Life Purpose Scale were adopted.High school students were selected as the research objects and the convenience principle of stratification(grade)was adopted to investigate.Using SPSS24.0,descriptive statistics,T-test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to sort out and analyze the collected data to ensure the scientific nature of the data,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)Self-identity of high school students: high school students are generally above average level.The level of self-identity of high school students from urban areas is higher than that of high school students from rural areas.The self-identity level of high school students whose fathers and mothers are highly educated is higher than that of high school students whose fathers and mothers are not highly educated.(2)Emotional intelligence of high school students: high school students are generally above average level.The score of emotional intelligence in senior one was higher than that in senior two and senior three.The emotional intelligence of high school students from urban areas was significantly higher than that of high school students from rural areas.The emotional intelligence scores of high school students whose fathers and mothers have received higher education are significantly higher than those of high school students whose fathers and mothers have not received higher education.(3)High school students’ sense of life meaning: high school students are generally above average.High school students whose fathers are highly educated have a significantly higher sense of life meaning than those whose fathers are not.(4)Emotional intelligence of high school students can positively predict the sense of meaning of life;Sense of life meaning can positively predict self-identity.Emotional intelligence can positively predict self-identity.The relationship between emotional intelligence and self-identity was partially mediated by sense of life meaning.
