It has been less than fifteen years since the establishment of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(MTCSOL)in 2007.With the continuous improvement of China’s comprehensive strength and international status,the "Chinese language fever" has been unprecedentedly high.More and more applications have applied for MTCSOL.The scale and speed of the development of this major is amazing.With the rapid expansion of enrolment,problems in the cultivation mode and employment of graduates have become increasingly evident.The global spread of the new crown epidemic has also brought more unpredictable factors to the employment prospect of this major.Based on the contradiction between supply and demand in university education,based on the background of epidemic,and take students who is studying MTSCOL in graduate school of Fujian province and students graduated within five years as the respondent.The questionnaire survey of students who is studying MTSCOL can provide an understanding of the current situation of cultivation and their perceptions of future employment from the students’ perspective.The survey of MTSCOL graduates can reflect on the training programme from the perspective of employment and explore the shortcomings of the cultivation mode,with the aim of improving and innovating the cultivation mode to promote employment.In the research process,this paper mainly adopts the questionnaire survey method and interview method.Through the survey,we found that there are problems in the cultivation process,such as the inconsistency between the curriculum and the cultivation objectives,the low proportion of participation in teaching practice,and the lack of practicality in the degree thesis.The confidence in employment,the action power in employment and the competitiveness in employment are not enough.The analysis reveals that curriculum,teaching practice,teaching quality and career guidance are significantly and positively correlated with counterpart employment,as well as with learners’ own learning quality.Employment is a complex social problem and employment difficulties are not caused by one factor.This paper finds that there is a correlation between cultivatio-n and employment,and by reforming specific aspects of the cultivation mode,it is conducive to improving the employment competitiveness of MTCSOL,thus alleviating the employment dilemma to a certain extent.At last,this paper puts forward suggestions in terms of discipline construction,curriculum,teacher guidance,internship and employment,and learners themselves,in order to provide reference for the reform of the training mode of this major.
