A Comparative Study Of Basic Color Words Between Chinese And Japanese From The Perspective Of Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language To The Japanese

There are a large number of color words in both Chinese and Japanese,and in specific combinations,many color words no longer simply indicate color,but have additional meanings,reflecting the different traditional cultures,customs,and religious beliefs of the two countries.The semantic scope of basic color words in Chinese is wide,rich in content and strong in ethnicity,and these characteristics determine their importance in teaching Chinese vocabulary to foreigners,so this paper selects basic color words as the object of study.Based on the definition of color words and basic color words,"白,黑,红,黄,蓝,绿" and the corresponding Japanese color words "白,黒,赤,黄,青,緑" were identified as the target of this study.In terms of semantic comparison,this paper extracts the meanings of six basic color words from Chinese and Japanese authoritative dictionaries,and compares them in four aspects,namely semantic overlap,semantic collision,semantic transposition compensation and semantic gap,to explore the similarities and differences of their semantic contents.The results show that the semantic contrasts between the Chinese and Japanese color words "白" and "白","红" and "赤" have the four characteristics mentioned above.The semantic contrasts between the Chinese and Japanese color words "黄" and "黄" and "蓝" and "青" are characterized by semantic overlap,semantic transposition compensation and semantic gap.The semantic contrasts between the Chinese and Japanese color words "黑" and "黒" and "绿" and "緑" are characterized by semantic overlap and semantic gap.In terms of metaphorical comparison,this paper classifies the target domains of metaphorical projection according to the conceptual metaphor theory,and selects the corpus from the BCC corpus,Duxiu Knowledge Corpus,and Equilibrium Corpus of Contemporary Japanese Written Language to enrich the study and compare the metaphorical phenomena of six basic color words.The results show that the metaphorical phenomena of Chinese and Japanese basic color words have both similarities and differences.Finally,based on the comparative results of the Chinese-Japanese basic color words and the arrangement of the basic color words in "International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Standards" and "Developing Chinese",this paper proposes suggestions for teaching color words in Japanese with a view to helping the teaching of color words.
