Translation Challenges And Strategies At Lexical Level

With the huge progress of social economy and the continuous development of science and technology,enterprises are seeking breakthroughs in their own technology and actively seeking cooperation.Taking the project of Technology Demands in Fujian Province as an example,this paper discusses the translation challenges at lexical level through case analysis and reflections on the reviewer’s translation,and summarizes the corresponding translation strategies,with a view to providing some ideas for the translation of words and terms in similar texts.This paper first introduces the basic situation of the case,including project overview,project process,and project text characteristics.Subsequently,the difficulties in translating the technical text are introduced,including the lack of information,the ambiguity of the modifying relationship between the demand words and the high degree of specialization in the original field to which the terms belong.Finally,by summarizing the author’s translation practice and analyzing the reviewer’s translation,corresponding translation strategies are proposed for the above translation difficulties: adding topic-related information,further checking,accurately locating the relationship between the central word and the modifier,and generalizing the specialized terms.
