Application Of MTPE Model In The Translation Of Qianxuesen Biography

With the development of economy and the increasing length of translation,machine translation has become more popular.Furthermore,the increase of online translation team cooperation has a corresponding demand for improving the efficiency of translators.Under these circumstances,machine translation has become an important means for translators to improve their efficiency.However,the accuracy of machine translation still needs to be improved.In this paper,the solution of post-editing to machine translation is explained with graphs,charts,examples and comparisons.In terms of vocabulary,the Chinese-English translation project of Qian Xuesen Biography includes a large number of technical terms.Although the efficiency ofmachine translation has improved,there are also inaccurate terms,which are embodied in the mistranslation and improper word segmentation of proper nouns(institution names,job positions,titles ofbooks,etc.).In the paper,the author divides the terminology list into different branches according to the category.At the syntactic level,although machine translation can improve translation efficiency and build long sentence patterns,it needs to be edited for review for its defects in sentence translation,given that the translation tends to be affected by the original text expressions.As for translation redundancy,this paper proposes the solution of concise translation and use of plain language.In view of the problem of unclear reference,the post-editing of this paper will refer to the pronouns according to the context of the original text when necessary,and clarify the reference relationship.When it comes to improper collocation,the post-editing strategy replaces the rigid copy of machine translation through translation based on the meaning,so that the collocation of verb and subject is in line.
