| There is no Serial Verb Construction in Korean, and the Serial Verb Construction in Chinese can only correspond to functionally close continuous verb structures, complex sentences,or other types of simple sentences. The purpose of this research is to compare the forms of Korean expressions corresponding to Chinese Serial Verb Construction, classify them according to semantic relations, and observe their semantic characteristics.According to the research, the continuous verb structures in Korean are the most frequently corresponding to Serial Verb Construction in Chinese. When the two consecutive terms are semantically related in a sequence relationship, the continuous verb structure in Korean is connected by the suffix "-(?)(a)/(?)(eo)" and "-(?)(go)".And when the two consecutive terms are semantically method-related,the continuous verb structure in Korean is connected by the suffix "-(?)(a)/(?)(eo)","-(?)(go)" and "(?)(myeo)/(?)(-myeonseo)".Also,when the two consecutive terms are semantically in a causal relationship, the continuous verb structure in Korean is connected by the suffix "-(?)(dago)/(?)(-neurago)","-(?)(reo)/(?)(ryeogo)/(?)(goja)" and "(?)(a)/(?)(eo)".Next,when the two consecutive terms in the Chinese Serial Verb Construction are semantically in causal or purposive relations, they can often correspond to complex sentences in Korean. When the two consecutive terms are semantically related in a causal relationship, the expression patterns corresponding to Korean are"S+(O1)+V1+~(?)(hagi wihaeseo)+(02)+V2" and "S+(01)+V1+~(?)(gi ttaemune)+(02)+V2".But in the case of purposive relationship, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is "S+(02)+V2+~(?)(hagi wihaeseo)+(01)+V1".Chinese Serial Verb Construction can also correspond to simple sentences in Korean. When the two consecutive terms are semantically related in a sequence relationship, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is "S+(01)+V1+~(?)(ihue)+(02)+V2".And when expressing the method relationship, the expression patterns corresponding to Korean are "S+(O1)+V1+~(?)(bangsigeuro)+(O2)+V2"and "S+(O1)+V1+(?)+V2+(?)(sinhoro samda)".Besides, when expressing the condition relationship, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is "S+(O1)+V1+~(?)(sangtaeeseo)+(O2)+V2".Also,when expressing the time relationship, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is as follow:"S+(O1)+V1+~(?)(hal ttaee)+(O2)+V2".When expressing the place relationship, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is "S+O+V1(?)+V2".Lastly,in case of expressing aspect relations, the expression pattern corresponding to Korean is "S+O+V1(?)(e)+V2". |
