| Serial Verb Construction is a grammatical structure widely distributed in East Asia,Southeast Asia,West Africa,South America,Oceania,and South Pacific.There are also linkages in Chinese and Indonesian.The conjunctive pattern is a sentence pattern that is frequently used in both Chinese and Indonesian.This article takes the linkages in Chinese and Indonesian as the research object.Through description,comparative analysis and questionnaire surveys,this paper makes a detailed description and comparison of the linkages between Chinese and Indonesian,revealing the similarities and differences between the two.On this basis,it provides several targeted suggestions for Indonesian students studying Chinese in the interlocking style.In terms of syntax,both Chinese and Indonesian Serial Verb Construction require the subject to be shared.Chinese Serial Verb Construction also share the subject and object at the same time,but Indonesian Serial Verb Construction don’t share the subject and object at the same time;Chinese and Indonesian SVCs generally need to share tense and mood components,and they don’t require sharing of negative components.In terms of semantics,both Chinese and Indonesian Serial Verb Construction can express a variety of semantic relations,such as chronological relationship,purpose relationship,manner relationship,conditional relationship,etc.However,the semantic relationships in Chinese SVCs are richer.For example,the Chinese SVC form can express causality,while the Indonesian SVC form cannot.From the semantic relationship between the object of the previous verb and the latter verb,the semantic relation contained in Chinese SVC is also richer.For example,the object of the preceding verb in Chinese can be the object of the latter verb,but this does not exist in Indonesian.The negative transfer of mother tongue,the students’ insufficient mastery of the Chinese Serial Verb Construction and the complexity of the Chinese Serial Verb Construction are the main reasons why Indonesian students make mistakes in using the Chinese Serial Verb Construction.The main types of errors in the use of Chinese SVCs are misordering errors,misgeneration errors,and omission errors. |
