The development of technology has led to the optimization of cell phone functions, and the increase of cell phone functions enables it to meet more needs of people, such as online shopping, game entertainment, information search, and video browsing. It is these features of cell phones that make them a standard part of people’s daily life, and this also facilitates secondary school students’ access to cell phones.Secondary school students are at a critical period of physical and mental development, and if they are not guided by the rich features of cell phones, they are likely to become addicted to them.Studies have shown that cell phone addiction may cause individuals to experience academic procrastination and burnout,as well as physical and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. As a researcher,it would be of good practical significance to find protective factors and intervention methods for cell phone addiction among secondary school students. Therefore, the study focused on exploring the protective factors of cell phone addiction among secondary school students and designing and implementing targeted psychological interventions for improving cell phone addiction among secondary school students.By reviewing the literature, the author found that future time insight is a protective factor for addictive behaviors, and it is reasonable to speculate that future time insight is a protective factor for cell phone addiction as an addictive behavior. At the same time,it has been pointed out that future time insight can be a protective factor for addictive behaviors, probably because future time insight individuals have stronger achievement motivation,self-regulation and self-control.In summary, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of future time insight on cell phone addiction and its internal mechanisms among secondary school students, and to try to implement targeted psychological interventions through the design of influencing factors of cell phone addiction. The study consists of two parts. In the first part of the study, the author takes the cell phone addiction of secondary school students as an entry point, takes future time insight as an influencing factor and self-control as a mediating variable, and explores the influence of future time insight on cell phone addiction of secondary school students and its internal mechanisms.Using a random sampling method,a total of 1108 middle school students from junior to senior high school in Nanchong and Bazhong City,Sichuan Province were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey, using the previously developed Future Time Insight Scale for Adolescents, the Self-Control Ability Questionnaire for Middle School Students and the Mobile Phone Addiction Index Scale to investigate the cell phone addiction and the influencing factors of middle school students, and the reliability and validity of the scales were verified. The results showed that the questionnaire had good reliability and validity.Based on the results of Study 1,Study 2 used a case-based intervention to intervene on the future time insight and self-control of individual secondary school students with cell phone addiction in order to indirectly improve the level of cell phone addiction of the intervention subjects. The author originally planned to conduct the intervention study by group counseling in Study 2,but because the individual secondary school students with cell phone addiction were distributed in different classes, the free time of students in different classes was not fixed and could not support long-term group intervention, and the reasons for the formation of cell phone addiction among secondary school students with cell phone addiction were different and there were individual differences, the case intervention could be more targeted according to the reasons for the formation of cell phone addiction among the intervention subjects. The intervention program can be designed according to the causes of mobile phone addiction.Considering the realistic factors and the individual differences of students,we decided to use the case intervention method. The "Adolescent Future Time Insight Scale," the "Secondary School Students’ Self-Control Ability Questionnaire," the "Mobile Phone Addiction Indicator Scale," and the self-designed intervention program were used as research tools. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Most middle school students’ cell phone use was in the normal range, and a small number of middle school students had cell phone addiction problems, and the detection rate of cell phone addiction among middle school students was 23.99%.(2)In terms of cell phone addiction scores, middle school students were significantly lower than high school students;only children were significantly lower than non-only children;and middle school students without cell phones were significantly lower than those with cell phones.(3)In terms of future time insight scores, middle school students were significantly higher than high school students;rural students were significantly lower than urban students;only children were significantly higher than non-only children;and middle school students with cell phones were significantly lower than middle school students without cell phones.(4)On self-control scores, middle school students were significantly higher than high school students;only children were significantly higher than non-only children;middle school students without cell phones were significantly higher than students with cell phones.(5)Middle school students’ future time insight was significantly and positively correlated with self-control,self-control was significantly and negatively correlated with cell phone addiction, and future time insight was significantly and negatively correlated with cell phone addiction.(6)Middle school students’ future time insight significantly positively predicted self-control,self-control significantly negatively predicted cell phone addiction, and future time insight significantly negatively predicted cell phone addiction.(7)Self-control fully mediated the relationship between future time insight and cell phone addiction.(8)The case intervention can improve the future time insight and self-control level of middle school students and indirectly improve their cell phone addiction.Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Enhancing middle school students’ self-control to improve cell phone addiction.(2)Enhancing middle school students’ future time insight to improve cell phone addiction.
