The author has selected an English scientific and technical text as the content of this translation practice, and the translation material is from the Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology,Volume 1(hereinafter referred to as the "Encyclopedia").It mainly includes the introduction of information technology topics in recent years. We decided to choose this text as the final translation practice report by repeatedly comparing research on the current academic research frontier, professional knowledge acquired, personal interests, etc. The source text is a non-literary text with a strong coherence, and there is a strong cohesion and coherence relationship in words and sentences. From the point of view of association, intention is the yardstick for translation(Zhao Yanchun 1999;2001).By analyzing the original text, the author chooses to explore the reset method of discourse coherence from the three levels of logical coherence, grammatical coherence and semantic coherence. In this paper, logical coherence is reconstructed by exploring causal, transitive and conditional relations;grammatical coherence is reconstructed by exploring the phenomena of substitution and illumination in discourse;and semantic coherence is reconstructed by exploring inter-word and inter-sentential coherence.Technical English has a unique vocabulary and grammatical structure. We will use appropriate translation methods and techniques in order to achieve coherence and consistency in the translation, taking into account the relevant specific cases. It is hoped that this experience will serve as a reference for the writing of translations of such texts and other non-literary texts.
