The Poetic Nature Of Zhang Wei’s Children’s Literature

Zhang Wei has always stayed away from the hustle and bustle of modern society,raised the banner of idealism and moralism,and adhered to the position of poetic writing.In recent years,he has extended his poetic writing characteristics to children’s literature.This thesis takes Zhang Wei’s children’s literature as the object of study,explores the origins of the poetic nature of his children’s literature,sorts out the poetic nature of the characters,time and space settings and themes in his texts,and explores the inspiration of the poetic characteristics of Zhang Wei’s children’s literature to the creation of children’s literature nowadays.There are six chapters in the thesis: the introduction,four chapters and the remaining discussion.The introduction analyses the current state of research on Zhang Wei’s children’s literature and defines the concepts of children’s literature and poetry,while clarifying the content of the essay and its value to the study of Zhang Wei’s literature as a whole.The first chapter explores the origin of the poetic nature of Zhang Wei’s children’s literature.Zhang Wei draws from his own childhood experiences and tastes the truth of life and childhood feelings in his memories,so that his children’s literature has a distinct poetic quality that is beyond the world.The poetry of his children’s literature comes from his recollection of the past,the preservation of his childishness,his reflection on the present and his reading experience.The second chapter discusses the poetic temperament shared by his Emilean children and the elders who are the guides,starting from the images in the text.They are not bound by the moral and ethical concepts of the world and enjoy the joy and pain of life in their true state.The third chapter explores the poetry of time and space in Zhang Wei’s children’s literature,starting from the temporal and spatial settings of the text.Taking the long-dead Jiaodong Peninsula countryside as the blueprint,Zhang Wei selects poetic images to construct poetry,focusing on the construction of a peachland scene that is different from modern civilization,and realizes the construction of the original home of human spirit in both time and space.The fouth chapter discusses and analyzes the three major themes of Zhang Wei’s children’s literature:the integration of the wild land,the growth of urchins,and the love and redemption,and explores their inherent poetic implications.The fifth chapter explores the value of Zhang Wei’s children’s literature to current children’s creation from the perspective of its poetic relevance.The remainder of the paper affirms the value of Zhang Wei’s poetic literature for children and explores the shortcomings of his children’s literature.
