This is a translation project report. The original text is selected from Chapter 15 to Chapter 16 of the Fragile Futures: The Uncertain Economics of Disasters,Pandemics, and Climate Change written by Vito Tanzi in 2022.The two selected chapters cover the implications of potential catastrophic events for policy and economic theory,as well as suggestions of institutional changes when dealing with global risks. This translation can help introducing the importance of global government and serve as a reference for translation of informative text if possible. The source text falls into the category of informative text in which many culture-loaded terms,intricately-structured complex sentences and negative expression with affirmative meaning appear, causing obstacle for the translator.Guided by Peter Newmark’s “Communicative Translation” theory, the translator adopted the translation strategy of free translation and other translation methods such as substitution, annotation, division, inversion, amplification, negation and affirmation to solve most of the difficulties. Finally, the report summarizes the experience gained in translation and the problems to be solved.
