| Adjective overlap is an important grammatical form in modern Chinese and an important content in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The diversity of overlapping forms and complexity of overlapping conditions increases the learning difficulty for learners.As an important basis for learners to learn,whether the arrangement of grammar points in the textbook is reasonable and standardized will directly affect the learning effect of learners.HSK Standard Course,as a textbook for Chinese as a foreign language that is widely used at present,is not clear whether there is any deficiency in the arrangement of adjective reduplication,which will affect the effect of students’ acquisition of adjective reduplication.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate and analyse the arrangement of overlapping adjectives in the textbook.This paper takes the overlapping adjectives in HSK Standard Course as the research object,uses descriptive method,quantitative analysis method and comparative research method,and takes the International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education and Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency as the reference.Check the match between the setting of adjective overlaps in HSK Standard Course and the syllabus in terms of overlapping forms,grammatical item levels and word bases.On this basis,combined with the consideration of the adjective overlapping arrangement in HSK Standard Course,the advantages and disadvantages of the adjective overlapping arrangement in the textbook are discussed,and the optimization suggestions are put forward in view of the shortcomings.The study found that in terms of overlapping forms,grade of grammar items and inclusion of word bases,HSK Standard Course has a high matching degree with the basic requirements of the syllabus.However,a form contained in grammar items is missing from the HSK Standard Course for the corresponding level.And in terms of the difficulty level of word base form,some words in HSK Standard Course are lower than the level of words in the syllabus.At the same time,HSK Standard Course has some shortcomings in the adjective overlapping setting,such as: the teaching content is not targeted enough;annotations are missing and oversimplified;the arrangement of practice content is not reasonable;the recurrence rate is low.In view of the above deficiencies,some suggestions are put forward for the optimization of adjective overlapping setting in HSK Standard Course: set targeted teaching contents,and the difficulty of overlapping examples should meet the corresponding level of the syllabus;perfect the language notes of overlapping adjectives and supplement the notes of overlapping two-syllable adjectives;increase the number of overlapping adjective exercises and pay attention to the effectiveness of the practice;increase the number of overlapping reproductions of two-syllable adjectives appropriately.This study aims at providing insights on the improvement of this series of textbooks and making suggestions on the arrangement and design of adjective overlapping in teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language.Meanwhile,properly fill the gap in the academic community’s research on combining adjective overlapping with textbooks appropriately. |
