Research On Soft Sculpture Creation Based On Material Characteristic

The material is the creator’s tentacle to explore the world,and leaving the traditional hard material framework is not only a breakthrough in material,but also an extension and expansion of the creator’s consciousness,and the birth of soft sculpture is based on people’s re-examination of soft materials.Although it has not been born for a long time,soft sculpture has a vigorous development of vitality,of which the selection and use of materials can be credited.The right material not only expresses the intention of the creator clearly,but also brings the audience closer.Based on the background of the development of soft sculpture,this paper analyzes the characteristics of materials from the physical properties and the emotional connotation given by society,culture and human beings,and explores the potential language of soft materials in artistic expression.On this basis,the presentation of soft materials in creation is summarized by combining representative soft sculptures from home and abroad.We will explore the metaphors brought by the production methods based on the qualities of the material itself,and the use of soft materials to enrich and supplement the previous sculptural themes,and then look into the future of soft sculpture through its characteristics of integrating into life and advancing with the times.Finally,through the creation of graduation works by linking theory with practice,a more in-depth and comprehensive exploration of soft sculpture art is conducted.
